Some winter camps put 200 to 300 children on the mountain at once.

We host 35 to 40.

That means smaller ski groups matched to your child’s level, instructors who actually know them, and space in the day for the moments that make a week in the Alps unforgettable, not just queue, ski, repeat.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work if the children are traveling on their own?

Since they child is a minor, they might want to book the Unaccompanied Minor (UM) service directly with the airline.

Please inform us once you have booked this service so we can arrange for our staff member to assist with their arrival at Geneva Airport.

Who can I contact if I need the information of the Staff member who will be at the airport on arrival/departure day?

If the airline is requesting the personal information of the person who will be at Geneva Airport welcoming your child, please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected]

If a parent is travelling with their child, may they also benefit from the transfer service from Geneva Airport to VIS?

Unfortunately, this is a service that we offer to our campers only, to make their arrival easier and smoother. If they would like us to arrange the transfer service for them, this would add an extra cost. Please, feel free to reach out to us at: [email protected]

What if we are dropping them off at VIS?

We'll be delighted to welcome you/them on campus! Please feel free to join us on arrival day, between 11am and 4pm. Our team will be glad to show you around. On departure day, we suggest the time slot between 8am and 12pm.

How does the check-in work on arrival day?

Upon arriving on campus, our team will be glad to welcome you and explain the different steps that you will be asked to follow:

STEP 1 – Check-in: our monitors will be giving you the welcome envelop with the room number, the building name, the room key card and the contact information of their monitor and Head of Camp.

STEP 2 – Smile!: our monitors and photographer will be waiting for your child to take them a picture for our records. You will also receive at the end of every week a newsletter with some pictures of the highlights of the week.

STEP 3 – Medication: should you need to give us any medication, our Team will guide you to our Health Center Team.

Are parents able to reach out to their children at any time during the day?

Our phone policy limits the use of the device to twice a day; they will be allowed to use their phones/devices during one hour in the morning (during breakfast time), and one hour in the afternoon (around 5pm, when they are back from activities).

Will my child share the room with their friend?

If any family has a room request, please forward it to us at [email protected] We will try our best to accommodate it, but we can not guarantee it beforehand. On arrival day, they will be informed of their room and roommate

How many campers are there in the room?

Most of our rooms are double and with ensuite bathroom. We also have a few single and triple rooms.

Do we need to book an insurance for our child?

We already have an insurance that will cover any accidents that happen during camp. If a family wishes to add a health insurance too, it's up to them.

We have a nurse on campus and they take care of any health issue that arise during Summer Camp. This service is 24 hours, 7 days a week. For any serious issue or disease, our Health Center Team might suggest going to the nearest hospital.

If there is any emergency, who shall we contact?

On arrival day, families will be provided with the phone number of their child's monitor. Also, they will be given other phone numbers that might be useful and that we strongly recommend saving them, such as Head of Camp and Nurse phone number.

If my child needs medication, who should I inform?

We kindly ask to mention any health issue when filling in the application form. As we approach to the start of the camp, our nurse will reach out to the family if they require further details.

Does my child need to know how to ski or snowboard?

No. Our Winter Camp welcomes all ability levels, from complete beginners to experienced skiers and snowboarders.

Campers are grouped according to their experience and receive professional instruction from the Swiss Ski School of Verbier (ESS). Whether your child is stepping onto snow for the first time or looking to refine advanced techniques, they will be supported and challenged at a level that suits them.

Is ski equipment provided, or do we bring/rent?

Campers are welcome to bring their own equipment or rent what they need through VIS Camps.

Equipment rental options include skis or snowboards, boots, helmets, and additional winter clothing. A fitting session is organised upon arrival to ensure every camper is comfortable and ready for the week ahead.

Is the lift pass included in the price?

Yes. Lift passes required for the Winter Camp programme are included in the camp fee, allowing campers to enjoy full access to the 4 Vallées ski resort used during their lessons and supervised skiing activities.

What happens on non-ski days or in bad weather?

Safety is always our priority. If weather conditions affect skiing activities, our team adapts the programme accordingly.

Campers may take part in indoor activities, team challenges, workshops, village experiences, or alternative excursions. In addition, every Winter Camp includes a cultural excursion, giving campers the opportunity to discover another side of Switzerland beyond the mountains.

Are ski lessons grouped by ability?

Yes. Before camp begins, families provide information about their child's skiing or snowboarding experience.

Campers are then placed into groups according to their ability level, ranging from beginner to advanced. Throughout the week, ESS instructors continuously assess progress and may adjust groups if needed to ensure every camper receives the most appropriate level of instruction and support
